Student Support Services

Preschool Education

Special education preschool serves children ages three to five who live in the Mount Vernon School District and have been evaluated as eligible for special education services. The program is administered by Mount Vernon School District through the Skagit Preschool and Resource Center (SPARC).

Daily routines support development across many areas, including physical, adaptive and self-help, social-emotional, academic, and communication skills.

Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language services are provided as needed through each child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), developed together with families.

Families are encouraged to volunteer in the classroom and to take part in parent meetings throughout the school year.
