Earlier in the month, students from LaVenture Middle School and Mount Vernon High School seized a valuable opportunity to participate in Legislative Day in Olympia. They were supported by a team of District Staff members, including Elia Solis, Tammy Oommen, Veronica Gonzalez, Paula DesJarlais, and Cristobal Sanchez. During this event, students engaged in meaningful discussions with state Senators and Representatives, advocating for important issues that impact not only themselves but also their district and staff. Additionally, the students broadened their horizons by visiting the campuses of Pacific Lutheran University (PLC) and the University of Washington (UW), enriching their educational experiences beyond the classroom.
