TK Students learn about farming
The TK classes have been working in collaboration with Viva Farms and Harvest for Healthy Kids to not only learn about the crops grown in our valley, but also about the people responsible for growing them. Each month, the TK classes have the opportunity to sample local produce and receive recipes to take home. Additionally, the culinary students at SVC often prepare tastings for students, using the fresh produce. This month, Farmer Steve Crider provided an abundance of radishes. Every student received a bunch of radishes to take home along with a recipe. They even received seeds so they could plant them. The children were thrilled to discover that the radishes came from Farmer Ray at Ralph's Greenhouse, a farm the students visited earlier this year on a field trip. It's an incredible partnership that enables the students to learn more about our community and support local farmers.
