Bulldog Award
This month’s Bulldog Award recipient was Harriet Rowley principal, Patricia Turley. Patricia is in her 4th year as an administrator for Harriet Rowley, and was nominated for her commitment in leading her staff during the last three challenging years while settling into a new building. I had an opportunity to present Patricia this award during a Harriet Rowley staff meeting and saw first hand the appreciation and respect that the staff have for her. Thank you for your leadership Patricia!

Board tours of schools
The Board of Directors has had an opportunity to visit schools during their scheduled morning tours. This month they visited Little Mountain Elementary. If you were part of those classroom tours, THANK YOU! These morning tours give our board an opportunity to see staff and students in action. The board and I see amazing things every time we stop by. Boys Swim
It was great to take in a 99-84 boys swim meet victory over Lynden on Thursday @ the YMCA. The special night was capped by Coach Paxson and Noles, with a senior night honoring Lukas Eikenbary-Barber, Kevin Elston, Aidan Hanson, Will Johnson, Bergen Milliren, Shaun Reyes, Wyatt Carlton, and Andres Rivas. The Bulldogs boys next swim meet is February 3rd in Bellingham.
Mount Vernon Students join the Symphony Orchestra
This week, students from LaVenture, Mount Baker, Centennial, and Mount Vernon High school all performed during the Skagit Symphony concert. Teachers, Amy McFeely (Cello)-LVMS, Andrea Brannman (Clarinet)-MBMS, Rene Gordina (Trumpet)-Centennial, Grace Dilworth (Violin)-MVHS, and Mallory McBride (String Bass)-MVHS performed three 45 minute concerts for over 1600 fifth grade students. These included students from around Skagit, including all of our fifth graders! Great job students, and a big thank you to Jacob Scherr for orchestrating such a great event. Visitas guiadas a las escuelas
La Junta Directiva ha tenido la oportunidad de visitar las escuelas durante sus visitas a las escuelas programadas. Este mes visitaron la escuela primaria Little Mountain. Si usted fue parte de esas visitas por los salones, ¡GRACIAS! Estas visitas le dan a nuestra junta la oportunidad de ver al personal ya los estudiantes en acción. La junta y yo vemos cosas asombrosas cada vez que pasamos por aquí. Fue genial disfrutar de una victoria de natación masculina 99-84 sobre Lynden el jueves en la YMCA.
