Common Core Standards

The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) define what students should know and be able to do in English Language Arts and Mathematics at each grade level. Washington State has adopted CCSS as the foundation of K-12 learning standards, and Mount Vernon's curriculum is aligned to them.

The resources below are curated for parents and families who want to understand the standards, support their child's learning at home, and explore the research behind them.
