Dr. Carl Bruner is the superintendent of Mount Vernon Schools, the largest school district in Skagit County with 5,700 students in nine schools.
Bruner has served as superintendent since July 2004.
Bruner served as the assistant superintendent of the Sedro-Woolley School District from 1997 to 2004. He holds a Bachelor's degree in English/Biology from the University of Texas, a Master's in Education/Psychology from the University of Washington, and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Washington. Bruner received his administration education credential from Central Washington University and superintendent certification from Seattle Pacific University.
Bruner is married and the parent of five children.
