Local physician Robert Coffey was appointed to the board in September 2006. Coffey is an active participant in the Mount Vernon school community, having served on numerous committees and volunteering as an instructor in high school math and advanced math/science.
Dr. Coffey and his wife, Deborah North, have two children who graduated from Mount Vernon High School.
Term: Unopposed for election to a 4-year term in November 2007.

T.J. Larrick was appointed as a director in February 2007. Larrick is employed by Val-Pac and as a part-time management and grant writing instructor at Skagit Valley and Whatcom Community Colleges.
He served for 24 years in the U.S. Navy, and worked for nine years as a special education instructional assistant in the Oak Harbor School District.
Term: Unopposed for election to a four-year term in November 2007.

LuAnne Burkhart was elected as a Board member in 2005. Burkhart serves as chief financial officer for three property management and redevelopment companies in Skagit County.
Burkhart has also held positions as finance manager, title clerk, and treasurer in the automobile industry as well as owner/operator for a home daycare business.
Burkhart received her BA degree in communications from California State University at Sacramento. She has three children.

Charles Guildner was elected as a Board member in 2005. He has 20+ years of banking experience and is employed by Peoples Bank. Mr. Guildner received a bachelor's degree in economics and business/finance from Pacific Lutheran University. He is married to educator Debbie Guildner. Their son graduated from Mount Vernon High School and currently attends Pacific Lutheran University; and a daughter attends Mount Vernon High School.
