Code of Professional Conduct

What you should understand about the Professional Code of Conduct
The goals of this policy are to protect the health, safety and general welfare of students, to assure the citizens of Washington state that education practitioners are accountable for acts of unprofessional conduct and to define and provide notice to education practitioners in Washington of the acts of unprofessional conduct for which they are accountable.  Violations should be reported to a supervisor and will receive prompt followup.
 
Code of Professional Conduct for Education Practitioners
The Code of Professional Conduct for Education Practitioners (Teachers, Educational Staff Associates and Administrators) is contained in Chapter 180-87 of the Washington Administrative Code. The purpose of this chapter establishes policies and procedures related to reprimand, suspension and revocation actions respecting certification of education practitioners in the state of Washington for acts of unprofessional conduct.

Washington State Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Release
Effective June 10, 2004, all applicants for Certificated and Classified positions in the Mount Vernon School District will be required to complete the Washington State Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Release Form at the time of their application per Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill 5533.  Applications will not be considered for positions unless this form has been signed and returned.   Questions?  Please call the Personnel Office (360)428-6110.
