PLANNING for the YEAR to COME
The
parent input portion of our placement process for next year will begin
soon. The deadline for all forms with parent input will be Friday, May 30th. The pink forms will be available in the front office next week, May 5 .
Each year, I remind families not to place teacher names on the form.
What we ask for is a description of the social, behavioral and academic
needs of your child to help us properly place them. This year we will
not have all our staffing in place during the input time frame. In this
circumstance, naming a teacher is not helpful in finding the best
placement for your child.
Our staff works very hard to
balance the dynamics within classrooms. We are using data more and more
to assist us in forming our work with students as well. We will do our
very best to place your child in the best learning environment
possible.
The teachers at Jefferson are dedicated and
skilled professionals. Your input will be instructive in helping us
place your child for next year. I assure you that all students will be
in good hands next year.
Don't forget about our Kindergarten Round Up on May 15th.
Round Up is very important as it helps us project the size of our
kindergarten for next year. Please encourage any one you may know who
has a kindergartner to attend our registration session on May 15th.

MVSD All-City Band Concert
The All-City Band Concert is scheduled for Tuesday, May 27th @ 7:30 p.m. with rehearsals at Mt. Baker M.S. this year.
Fifth Grades: May 16th & 23rd (Fridays) 7:30 a.m.
Sixth Grades: May 15th & 22nd (Thursdays) 7:30 a.m.
All will rehearse at the MVHS gym @ 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27th (the morning of the concert).
