WELCOME TO JEFFERSON: Beginning 2009-2010
Over the years, we have tried different times for our new school year
Open House. For the past few years, Open House has been scheduled
before the school year started.
This early date was
difficult for staff to prepare for sufficiently. Therefore, with the
intent of being completely ready for such an important event, we have
moved it to the first week of school. We will be pleased to see you there!
2009 - 2010 OPEN HOUSE:
Thursday, September 10, 2009
4:30pm to 6:30pm.
The student placement process for 2009-2010 closed on May 29, 2009.
Your information will be combined with other data to help us balance
learning-environments at each grade level.
This placement
process is finalized in August to give the school an opportunity to
adjust for any summer surprises. Sometimes a class count has an
unexpected surge in numbers or a state budget impact requires some
shifting. By finalizing in August, we hope to provide the most
productive and positive learning-environment for our students.
In the past couple of years, student placements have been announced at
Open House prior to the start of school. Because Open House is
scheduled for the first week of school, classroom placements will be available Thursday, August 27th. For your convenience, lists will be posted on the front doors of the school or in the school foyer.
Since Open House will only be two weeks away, classrooms will not be open to visit at that time.

REQUIRED VACCINATIONS
Washington
State Law requires that all students entering 6th grade provide
evidence that they have received a Tdap (Tetanus booster) after their
11th birthday. Students entering the 6th grade also need to show
evidence that they have received TWO Varicella (Chicken Pox)
vaccines. Any student who has not provided evidence of these
vaccinations will not be allowed to attend 6th grade.
Please
check with your child's health care provider to obtain your child's
immunization dates or to schedule an appointment for your child to
receive these vaccines.
