Volunteer Opportunities

The Mount Vernon School District has a proud history of volunteers working in our schools. It is our mission that each child succeeds in a school community of lifelong learners working together with supportive resources in a nurturing environment. Volunteer service is vital to the success of our schools. The District’s VISITS (Volunteers In Schools Inspire Today’s Students) program invites parents, grandparents, students and community members to help make a difference in our schools.

Each school has a coordinator who oversees the volunteer program at their location. Any person interested in volunteering is encouraged to contact the school volunteer coordinator. The volunteer coordinator will match the volunteer’s interests with school needs. A specific number of volunteer hours is not required; however, a regular time commitment is appreciated.

To learn more about our volunteer programs, please contact the volunteer coordinator at the school of your choice.
