About New Student Online Enrollment

Families are able to enroll new students through Skyward Family Access. If you do not already have a Skyward Family Access account, please create an account by clicking on New Student Enrollment Account Request to sign up for an account and begin the enrollment process.

 

If you do not have a student attending Mount Vernon Schools, please request a Skyward Login.

As you are completing the enrollment process, you will have the opportunity to scan and attach the required documents as part of the enrollment application. If you do not have access to a scanner, please bring these documents to your child’s school and the school will make copies. This step is required to complete the enrollment application. If you have questions about any of these documents, please feel free to speak with the staff in the main office of your child’s school or call the district office at (360) 428-6110.

  • Child’s legal birth certificate

  • Child’s immunization records

  • Child’s withdrawal grades from previous school (middle and high school only)

 

Additional Documents to Provide if Applicable

  • Parenting plan / court order

  • Proof of guardianship if the child is living with an adult other than the parent(s)

 

Important Information for Families Enrolling Students

  • Children must be at least five years old on or before September 1st to be enrolled in kindergarten.

  • Children must be at least six years old on or before September 1st to be enrolled in first grade.

  • Children of age 8 and less than age 18 are required by law to attend a public school, an approved private school or educational center, unless they are received approved home-based instruction.

  • Children who qualify under the McKinney-Vento Act as homeless (lacking a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence) will not have enrollment denied or delayed due to lack of any of the documentation regularly required for enrollment.
